Last Day Reflections

What did you learn about photography that you did not know before?
I learned that photography is another way to express yourself and how you see you the world. I also realized that there are many different types of photographs, such as macro and tilt shift. There is also different ways you can have light coming into your photo. There are many different ways of getting photos, such as enlargers, camera, and film.

What did you learn about yourself this semester?
I learned that I am a perfectionist when it comes to photography. I have to have everything perfect and I will keep trying until I get it perfect. I also learned that I love taken pictures, but I don't love being in pictures. I can get frustrated when I can't get a picture looking the way I want it to look and eventually I will just give up and not try anymore.

What do you wish we had done that we did not?
I wish we would have done more film camera projects because I really liked the whole process of getting the pictures of the film. I also wish we would have done pictures of buildings and homes because I love seeing pictures of the different types of buildings and their structures.

What was your struggle?
My struggle was trying to get good pictures for the backlight light project. It was hard trying to get the perfect amount of light in the picture in order to get the outline of my subject. I also struggled with getting good pictures that I can work with.

What did you conquer?
I conquered on having good photos that I enjoy looking at and being able to take good photographs.

Lighting

For this project I discovered that getting the lighting to work with the camera was a lot harder than I expected it to be. I also had trouble with finding bright enough light to shine on my sisters' face. For the silhouette pictures, I learned that the light coming from behind the subject had to be bigger than the subject itself.
