Beautiful Photography

How would you define beauty in photography?
Beauty in photography is anything appealing to the eye.

What are the characteristics of photographic beauty?
Something that you want to keep looking at, something interesting, or it's appealing to the eye.

Can something "ugly" be photographed and be considered beautiful? Why? How? Examples?
I think something that is ugly can become beautiful in a photo because you can make it look different then what it really is. The way the lighting in the room can change the picture.
